Abstract:Abstract:Research purposes: In order to study the mechanical behavior of concrete-filled round-ended weathering steel tubular stub columns, this paper carried out 4 concrete- filled weathering steel tubular stub columns in round-end forms experiments. The finite element (FE) method is used to analyze the concrete-filled weathering steel tubular stub columns. Analysis and comparison of the difference between concrete-filled weathering steel tubular stub columns and concrete- filled steel tubular stub columns was based on the finite element method and experiment results. Research conclusions: (1) The constitutive relation of steel used in this paper is suitable for weathering steel and the steel tensile performance test shows that the mechanical properties of weathering steel and carbon steel are similar. (2) The ultimate bearing capacity, ductility and the restraint effect of steel tube on concrete are greatly improved with the confining stirrup. (3)The experimental results and finite element analysis results show that the static mechanical properties of concrete-filled round-ended weathering steel tubular stub columns and concrete- filled steel tubular columns are no significant difference. (4)The research results can provide the reference for the mechanical properties of the concrete-filled round-ended weathering steel tubular stub columns.
