Research on the Planning Model of Heavy Haul Transformation of Existing Railway
NING Chao
Research purposes: Heavy haul transportation is an important approach of easing Chinese railway transportation capacity tension and making railway further satisfy the demands of national economic development. Meanwhile,it is also the developing trend of Chinese railway freight transportation. With the large number of dedicated passenger lines put into operation,the transportation capacity in the existing lines will be released to some extent. Transforming the exiting lines in a planned way and running heavy haul trains can take full advantage of the existing equipment,save capital investment, increase the railway carrying capacity substantially, improve the railway productivity and reduce freight transportation costs.
Research conclusions: The paper elaborates the development and planning of Chinese heavy haul railway network, presents the principals ought to be followed when planning the heavy haul corridors. Take the railway maximum income as the object function and take the line carrying capacity as well as the investment limit as the constrains,an investment decision - making for heavy haul transformation and cargo flow distribution model based on path selection as well as the solution method are proposed. The model makes the decision of rail heavy haul transformation more reliable.

Research on 3D Scene Quickly Reproduce Facing Railway Industry

Research purposes: With the successful application of 3D GIS technology on Digital City area,the demand from railway industry is increasingly strong. Related researches have made some breakthroughs,but not yet achieved widely and successfully application. The main reason is how to quickly and precisely build a long 3D scene,to provide a data support platform for 3D application.
Research conclusions: ( 1) A practical integrated technology is put forward in this paper to quickly build a 3D railway scene. ( 2) a series of three - dimensional GIS software platforms and tools appropriate are independently developed. The integrated technology and software platforms have been applied in China - Laos railway projects successfully. It verifies the feasibility of the technical system in this paper. So a solution for 3D GIS applications on the railway has been explored.

Research on Application of Natural Source Audio Frequency Magnetotellurics in Structure Exploration

Research purposes: With the rapid railway construction,more and more railway lines pass through the hill and mountain areas in recent years. the limitations of the conventional geophysical methods are more and more obvious when they are used for the fault structure exploration for railway. The research is done on the data processing and interpretation of the natural source audio frequency magnetollurics for the fault structure exploration for the purpose of improving the accuracy of fault structure survey and basically having no limitation in the faut structure survey.
Research conclusions: In the fault structure exploration for railway,compared with the conventional geophysical methods,the natural source audio frequency magnetotellurics has the features of the rapid survey with less topographical limitation,big survey depth and low cost. With the self - developed data processing methods,the same platform can be used for processing the data of the natural source audio frequency magnetollurics and CSAMT to solve the defect that the inversion is too smooth and abnormal homogenization,getting good survey effect on the fault structure exploration and finding out the distribution pattern of fault structure. It provides a strong basis for the railway alignment and guiding significance to the similar works.

Application of Situ Tests in Geological Exploration of the Airbus A320

Research purposes: At present in our country,geotechnical investigation uses the conventional sounding equipment in the plain,and it is difficult to penetrate hard soil which penetration resistance is 40 ~ 50 MPa,and borehole depth can only achieve 25 ~ 40 m. Sounding depth can not satisfy the need of engineering investigation for the high - rise building,high - speed railway and highway. The problem has caused wide attention in geotechnical engineering field.
Research conclusions: ( 1) This paper adopts several in - situ testing methods such as double bridge cone penetration test,three bridge rotating penetration test,sample drilling,slab loading test,shear wave test. The three bridge rotating penetration test technology is a new species of in - situ test techniques which overcome the problem as conventional sounding can not penetrate the hard layer and the test depth inadequate,and its penetration depth can reach 60 m in this field. ( 2) This paper use the method of contrast analysis and mutual verification find out the cause of foundation soil era, lithologic features and its distribution law. ( 3) Thus improved the quality of exploration,shorten the cycle of survey and lower the cost,provides a reliable design parameters and practical foundation design suggestions for engineering design.

Discuss on Concentric Circle Design of Passenger Dedicated Line

Research purposes: The analyses of the concentric circle design principles of traditional design method and the design method of the track of passenger dedicated line are made and the study is done on the difference between these two methods to find the problems in the design method of passenger dedicated line,such as producing over - large design line spacing and wasting the land. The solution is offered on the basis of the qualitative and quantitative analyses.
Research conclusions: By using the concentric circle design method of passenger dedicated line,the left and the right tracks are designed to a approximative concentric circle,and its error with the theoretical concentric circle increases with the decrease of curve radius and the increase of the curve drift angle. When these two factors reach a certain quantitive standard,the traditional strict design method should be used for passenger dedicated line to ensure the technical and economical efficiencies of the design.

Engineering Geological Alignment of Extended Second Line of Baoji -Zhongwei Railway in Liupan Mountain Area

Research purposes: The study on the schemes for the railway passing the Liupan mountain area is crucial to the selection of the schemes for the extended second line of Baoji - Zhongwei Railway. As the geological condition of this area is complex,the geological factors of controlling the railway line schemes involves in the many geological conditions, such as the landslide,debris flow,geological structure,seismic region,high ground stress,the soft tunnel wall rock and hydrogeological conditions. The engineering geological alignment is crucial to the scheme for railway passing through the Liupan mountain area.
Research conclusions: From the comparison of the geological conditions of the various schemes,it is concluded that with the west slope equalization scheme of building two extra - long tunnel through Liupan mountain area,the railway and tunnel can keep away from the area with unfavorable geological condition and the main fault zone,and the tunnel wall is of single lithology cretaceous stratum with less portal and short shallow section. In this way,the risks of construction and operation of the railway in the Liupan mountain area where earthquake occurs frequently are much cut,and the engineering geological condition is optimal.

Discussion on Treatment of Deep Completely Decomposed Granite Foundation of High - speed Railway

Research purposes: When the high - speed railway passes through deep completely decomposed Granite zones,it is necessary to search for a reasonable method for treatment design of deep completely decomposed granite foundation because the compressibility of completely decomposed granite is big and the post - construction settlement of high - speed railway should be controlled strictly. By taking an example,this paper explains the reasonable calculation method for the natural foundation settlement and deeply discusses the matter for caution in design of foundation treatment.
Research conclusions: The compression indexes of completely decomposed granite obtained from laboratory consolidation test are of low reliability,and using these indexes can easily cause the waste in foundation treatment design. The compression indexes obtained from the standard penetration test are relatively accurate and can be used for the design, but the accuracy and applicability of empirical relation between deformation modulus and SPT blow count is worth further studying in combination with the properties of local decomposed granite.

Exploration on the Stabilization of Embankment on Slope in Permafrost Regions

Research purposes: Plateau,permafrost and environmental problems are the three major problems in the construction of Qinghai - Tibet railway,and its particularity and complexity are unique in the world history of railway.The stability of embankment on slope in permafrost regions is extremely complexity and variability due to the unique environment and climate conditions. Therefore,it is necessary to study on the stability of embankment on slope to ensure the long term stability and operation safety of Qinghai - Tibet railway.
Research conclusions: The stability calculation of embankment slope in permafrost regions not only refers to ordinary slope analysis methods,but also considers the time factor. In addition,the stability reinforcement of embankment slope still can take the following methods,such as the selection of filter,the geogrid,the anti - slide piles,and so on. The results drawn in this paper can provide reference to the construction and management of plateau railway in the future.

Experimental Analysis of Long - term Stability of Soaking Subgrade for High Speed Railway

Research purposes: Compared with general subgrade,the long - term stability of soaking subgrade would be threatened when it suffered flow impact,scour,erosion,water softening of the roadbed fill,adverse effects of water level change and cyclical loading by train. So a dynamic experiment system is built to study the behavior of soaking subgrade under cyclical loading by train for high speed railway. Then,some testing indexes containing subgrade dynamic stress, elastic deformation,plastic deformation,dynamic pore water pressure,the natural frequency and so on are analyzed. At last,the long - term stability of the soaking subgrade is evaluated and the reliability and reasonableness of the design scheme is verified.
Research conclusions: A dynamic test system is established according to the loading boundary conditions of soaking subgrade paved with CRTS II slab ballastless track for a top speed of 350 km / h. After 5. 5 million times dynamic loading of 9 ~ 13 kPa,the dynamic stress,the dynamic pore pressure and the elastic deformations of the roadbed are in stable states,and the plastic deformation is 0. 48 ~ 0. 56 mm. The results of the sweeping frequency test indicate that the resonance will not happen as the natural vibration frequency of the subgrade is more than train 's dynamic loading frequency and the subgrade keep good performance because the natural vibration frequency decreases less after the dynamic test. The design of the experiment about soaking subgrade protection and filling is feasible. The long - term soaking subgrade has stable performance and can meet the strength and deformation requirements of the roadbed with ballastless track.

Research purposes: As the construction of intercity railroad and high - speed passenger special railway,introducing railway hub into passenger dedicated line causes great influnces on urban land and people’s life. Because its demolition costs are not only doubled,but the demolition is difficult,time wasting and seriously affecting the engineering construction. Importing of Hefei - Wuhan railway into Wuhan hub causes parallel addition engineering. There are many high - rise buildings at one side of the addition engineering and lots of difficulties in extension and land expropriation project. So,C35 reinforced concrete frame - upstanding - hollow - shoulder retaining wall is designed.
Research conclusions: It contains retaining walls,culverts and bridge structural design in one system. The top of the wall surface,composed of rigid frame and sidewalk cantilever plate,meets the need of the layout of the station professional ancillary facilities. This structure design not only reflects the innovation and rationality of subgrade design,but also ensures the safety of existing lane and the existing building. After operation,its benefits of small footprint,wide bottom base,better itself stability,high level of resistance,and better anti - slide,anti - dumping effect,are fully reflected. But it also plays with the dual role of slope retaining and slopes receive. So,in the future,this design has the important reference value for the same type of railway roadbed engineering design and construction.

Knowledge on Comprehensive Survey for A Super Big Railway Bridge in Southwest China

Research purposes: The appropriate comprehensive approaches should be adopted to the super big bridge in the area with the complex geological and topographical conditions. Taking a super big railway bridge in the Southwest China as an example,this paper analyzes and compares the various geological survey approaches and their effects and offers the knowledges on ensuring the survey precision for the super big bridge in the area with the complex geological condition.
Research conclusions: Under the complex geological and topographical conditions,the geological investigation for the super big bridge should be conducted according to the existing norms and based on the geologic mapping. The variety of survey means should be used to complement and validate each other. By makin the comprehensive analysis,the development characteristics of the rock - soil layer and structure can be judged,the geotechnical parameters can be determined and the site and foundation programmes can be evaluated.

Research on Reinforcing Technology for Existing Railway Concrete Simply -supported Beam Bridge

Research purposes: The existing railway concrete simply - supported beam bridge is mainly of medium and small span style. The theory and practice showed after the train speed - raise,the lateral stiffness of the most beam was not enough and the pier stiffness was not enough because the pier section was small. They could not meet the speed - raise requirement,so it was necessary to reinforce the beam and pier. For the upgrading plan of the Luohe - Fuyang Railway,the study was done on the reinforcing technology for the existing railway concrete simply - supported beam bridge and the the experience of it was summed up for offering the reference to the similar works.
Research conclusions: Strengthening the transverse connection of the diaphragm of the concrete simple - supported beam can well control the lateral vibration of the bridge. Adding the beam bonding steel plates and the external prestressing steel strands can effectively increase the load - bearing capacity of the beam. Enlarging the cross section of the pier can greatly enhance the lateral rigidity of the piers. The existing railway concrete simply - supported beam bridge reinforced by taking the above measures can meet the speed - raise requirements.

Research on Intelligent Diagnosis Methods of A Hybrid Girder Cable - stayed Bridge Based on Artificial Neural Networks

Research purposes: It has significant engineering value and research meaning to do research on intelligent diagnosis methods of a hybrid girder cable - stayed bridge. Taking Tianjin Hebei Street hybrid girder cable - stayed bridge as the engineering background, based on artificial neural networks, the method of hierarchical damage identification which is suitable to hybrid girder cable - stayed bridge is presented: the damaged substructure and damaged steel girder substructural components can be detected by using Probablistic Neural Network ( PNN) and Radial Basis Function ( RBF) Neural Network individually. Furthermore,an combined static and dynamic damage sensitive index which is suitable in the second step is presented,a RBF Neural Network model is constituted and used to simulate three damage conditions,i. e. single damage and double or three damages which occurred simultaneously.
Research conclusions: The identification results show that: ( 1) The proposed hierarchical damage identification method has a identified precision and efficiency,it is suitable to intelligent diagnosis process of hybrid girder cable - stayed bridges. ( 2) The combined static - dynamic damage identification index is also sensitive to cable - stayed hybrid girder bridges. ( 3) The identified precision for single damage cases is nearly to 100% . ( 4) For double and triple damage cases individually,the identified precision is nearly to 82. 61% and 78. 3% .

Discuss on the Stability of Steel - box - girder - bridge in Railway Station Area

Research purposes: It is not rational in the span and linear for Viaduct in station area limited by railway,site,landscape and so on. With design of bridge component limited,bridges in station area are often designed as single support curved girder,which has more risk of overturning. This paper based on the analysis of the West Railway Station in Tianjin,studied the relevant measures to improve its stability and ensure the safety of viaduct in station area and the coordination of landscape.
Research conclusions: After a targeted analysis,through spatial models established by the finite element method,the data shows that spatial models can truly simulate the forcing property of single support curved girder bridges. And it also shows that,the appropriate choice of pier beam consolidation measures can effectively reduce the risk of overturning, and reasonable eccentricity of structure can improve the stability and security of different structures. It may provide reference in bridges of the same structure.

Design and Research of Bridge - tunnel Joint Technology on Changsha -Kunming Passenger Dedicated Line

Research purposes: There are many sections of bridge - tunnel connection in Changsha - Yuping section on Shanghai - Kunming passenger dedicated line because of topographic relief effect. Various of difficulties exist in design of bridge - tunnel connection,such as whether tunnel portal can accommodate bridge abutment and effectively relieve aerodynamic effect of tunnel portal,drainage of portal in lower point of tunnel,transition of cable channels between bridge and tunnel,whether retaining wall outside of tunnel can effectively work and construct safely,and so on. In order to resolve the problem that bridge and tunnel are difficult to be connected in Changsha - Yuping section on Shanghai - Kunming passenger dedicated line,the special study on bridge - tunnel connection technology need to be done.
Research conclusions: ( 1) In bridge - tunnel connection section in series,using enlarged cross - section and digging filling piles can effectively solve the problems that bridge abutment enters tunnel difficultly and aerodynamic effect exists in tunnel portal. ( 2) According to different portal types and lengths of open cut sections,excavation methods of bridge abutment pits are classified into two types: protection of digging filling piles and step - slope excavation behind the pit in bridge - tunnel docking connection section. ( 3) For the situation that retaining wall exists outside of the portal in bridge - tunnel docking connection section,the following two measures that pile foundation and joist are set under the retaining wall and the retaining wall is designed into anchor retaining wall,can solve the difficult problems that the retaining wall is unstable because of pit excavation. ( 4) By the measure that transition section is set in tunnel portal,cable channels can link smoothly in bridge - tunnel connection section. ( 5) Inspection well which is set in the lower tunnel portal,can effectively solve the drainage problem of tunnel.

Applicable Analysis of Calculation Method for Prediction of Water Bursting Volume of Mountain Tunnel

Research purposes: The calculation of water bursting volume from the fissure of the foundation rock of mountain tunnel is a matter to be further studied. The traditional underground water dynamic method,underground runoff simulation method, hydrology method and precipitation method have some defects because of the model generalization or homogenized medium resolution.
Research conclusions: In order to make the prediction of water bursting volume more closed to the real situation,more reasonable and more scientific,on consideration of the strength reduction factor of the fissure and the asymmetry of the boundary condition,the calculation should be made for the steady flow with the parcel superposition method,the calculation should be made for the non - steady flow with the osmotic coefficient that conforms to the real situation and thickness of the water - bearing stratum,the water bursting volume should be predicted by using the effective catchment area when the underground runoff method is used on the base of the analysis the topographic and structural conditions, and the hydrology method has macro estimate role,so it is unsuitable to be used for the quantitative evaluation. When the condition is allowable,the numerical model should be established for calculation,especially to establish the 3D flow numerical model.

The Design and Practice of Railway Tunnel Engineering CAD System

Discussion on Design Technology of Grounding Grid in Traction Substations

Research purposes: The grounding grid of the traction substation is the key installation to ensure security of service of the electrified railway,normal operation of electric equipments and safety of the staff. It is meaningful to research technology of grounding grid of the traction substation. This paper analyses and discusses several common problems on grounding plan in substation projects while stating the designer’s side,and offers some related suggestions.
Research conclusions: ( 1) It’s necessary to upgrade design method to ensure safety of the grounding grids of special or very important traction substations by using computer - aided design software. ( 2) The maximum short - circuit current should not be taken as the grounding current,the effect of overhead ground wire connected with the grid should be considered,and the current divider coefficient should be calculated. ( 3) The designers should adopt unequally spaced arrangement in optimizing grounding grid when necessary. ( 4) The designers should not hold the opinion that copper must be resistant to corrosion,they also should take the effect of galvanic corrosion and environmental factor of the soil into consideration.

Research on Locomotive Facilities Layout of Guiyang South Marshalling Station

Research purposes: The Guiyang south marshalling station extension project is one of the most complicated extending works of the whole line. The locomotive facilities layout inside the marshalling station will have direct impact on the overall arrangement of the marshalling station and also on the locomotive route and distance,so it plays an important role in the quick and effective transportation organization inside the marshalling station. The study on the train organization,locomotive operation flow and existing locomotive facilities in the marshalling station is to determine a rational scheme for layout of locomotive facilities and the execution of the marshalling station extension project.
Research conclusions: Through systematic analysis of marshalling station as well as study on the layout of locomotive facilities,the conclusion indicates that the existing locomotive depot should be utilized after overhaul,sub - locomotive depot should be adopted,i. e. locomotive turnaround depot be built at Guiyang south station,and at the same time, rebuild the existing Guiyang locomotive depot. This scheme has such merits as fully utilizing existing locomotive facilities,more smooth for locomotive operation,shortening route distance,saving operation expenses,with better transition construction and preserving condition for future development.

Research on Structure Design of Elevated Station of Line 3 of Shenzhen Metro

Research purposes: With the rapid development and construction of urban rail transit,the percentage of the elevated track grows faster. How to gain an advantage in model selection and design of the elevated station structure and how to cut the impact of the elevated station on the city space as much as possible become the problems to be solved urgently. With combination of the construction experience of Line 3 of Shenzhen metro and metros of other cities,this paper analyzes and researches the commonly used structure scheme for the elevated station and the key points of design to provide some useful references to the similar elevated station.
Research conclusions: According to the load - bearing characteristics of the elevated station structure with " integration of building bridge structure" of Line 3 of the Shenzhen metro,the targeted measures for the structure design were taken and the relative checking methods were used. In this way,the good points and shortcomings of the such kind structure could be adopted and avoided to meet the requirements of the structure safety of the elevated station and passengers' comfortableness of urban rail transit.

Research on Field Plateau Height of Metro Vehicle Depot

Research purposes: The metro vehicle depot and the comprehensive base are generally located in the city proper or city periphery,with the complicated geographical condition. The field plateau height of metro vehicle depot is affected by various factors,and it should meet the various demands. The reasonable field plateau height not only favors the operations and safety of the depot,but also saves the engineering cost and improves the overall appearance of the project. So it is necessary to analyze the influence factors on the field plateau height of the depot to ensure the height reasonable.
Research conclusions: Taking the design of the field plateau height of Harbin Taipingqiao Vehicle Depot and comprehensive base as an example,the factors about the hundred - year flood level,the ponding depth and the rail top height were analyzed on the premise of meeting the relative design principle and technical standard,and at the same time,the geographical and hydrological environment,the municipal facilities and the earthwork were considered and the relative proposal was made. The result showed the design could meet the various demands and it could be as the reference to the similar works.

Research on Energy - saving Technology of Railway Building Architecture

Research purposes: The railway building architecture as the traffic building with the multiple functions,the complex space,the big energy consumption and the going and coming of so many people has the difficulties in energy -saving. Based on the analysis of the classification of the functions of railway building and the situation of the energy consumption,the simulation analysis of the thermotechnical parameters of the space enclosing structure of the industrial architecture ( repair workshop) is made,also the analysis of the heat environment of the workshop building under the heat pressing natural ventilation is made and the energy - saving tactics of the architecture is offered for the energy -saving design of the architecture.
Research conclusions: The integrated energy - saving tactics should be adopted in the energy - saving design of the architecture and the passive energy - saving should be combined with active energy - saving. The energy consumption of the railway building can be much cut by improving the ventilation condition and processing set - up,and taking measures of the heat insulation and machinery blowing - in.
