YANG Xiao-ting, ZHANG Hui, WANG Wen-ke, WANG Zhao
Research purposes: The studies are done on the Influence of subterranean construction on groundwater environment in the processes of construction and operation for the purposes of providing the scientific basis for underground construction project planning and environmental protection of underground water.
Research results: Based on the summary on influence of understructure work construction on ground water environmental and taking the Line 2 of Xi ˊan City Rail Communication as an example , the influence of foundation pit precipitation in construction period on the groundwater environment is calculated with empirical formula and the influence on the flow field of groundwater after metro operation is predicated with the numerical simulation the method. However, the foundation pit precipitation only occurred in the Zhang Village station with the central water level dropping 6. 3 m, the precipitation of 10 454. 15 m3/d and influencing radius of 441 m. This will have certain influence on the ground-water flow because the underwater flow mute will be dammed by the metro track, resulting in head water raising and rear water lowering with simulation change amplitude of underground water level between 0~1.7 m.

The Building of Railway Construction Control Network in the High Altitude Area
NING Li-Ping
Research purposes: In the railway control surveying of the high-altitude areas, the side of control network will have a greater length of the projection length distortion. If the control network is established over the national coordinates in the region, the deformation of the length of the railway construction can not meet the requirements of precision control network, which will have a great effect on the coordinates stakeout of line construction survey and breakthrough measurement. Therefore, a reasonable length of the evaluation and treatment of deformed projection of the results of coordinates, and the establishment of high-altitude areas to control the construction of the railway network has become an important part of engineering control surveying in the area.
Research conclusions: In the high altitude control surveying of the railway construction , distortion of reductions of elevation is mainly in the length deformation. So , it is the best choice to select the level surface with compensation used as plane of projection, and build an independent coordinates system based on the orthomorphic projection 3°bands. The method is simple conversion, furthermore, the result of calculated coordinates is very close to the coordinates in the original coordinate system of national unity. It is helpful for the link between inside and outside of the surveying area. If the line length has a wide span from east to west, and when the center of the surveying area is far from the central meridian, we should consider selecting” any local projective stripes" or other methods.

Methods and Technology for Active and Passive Temperature Control of Frozen Soils
WEI Zhi,JIN Hui-jun,ZHANG Jian-ming,WU Jin-kui,YANGSi-zhong,JI Yan-jun
Research purposes: Frozen ground temperature changes will cause complex changes in seepage, temperature and stress fields. Active and passive temperature controls are the basic methods for frozen soils temperature control. But it is difficult to distinguish the active and passive concepts, so it is important to clarify the essential difference between active technology and passive technology for temperature control of frozen soil.
Research conclusions: From the viewpoint of energy, the passive temperature requires no power and no moving mechanical parts during operation, which is the most commonly used technology for frozen soils temperature control. On the contrary, the active temperature control requires power to operate or has moving parts in temperature control system. The most distinct features of the two methods are that whether the freezing process can be controlled and whether need any support to energy consumption. For some calculation of frozen soils temperature control, there are a lot of formulas and charts obtained in long time, which can be used, but if it wants a more precise calculation, it needs simulation with some mature models.

LI Jian-gang,Du Yu-dong, Wei Yan-ling, ZHANG Jun-bo
Research purposes: The stability of the high-rise pier is always a critical factor for the safe of bridge. How to increase the stability of the high-rise pier, and at the same time make the appearance aesthetic and the force reasonable,is always a question for the engineers explored. The paper analyses the spacial stability for the double-shaft and thin-wall high-rise pier bridge of the Jing-Cheng-San-Qi Qingshuihe 2#, with the three-dimensional finite element analysis software SAP2000,comparisons for the stability of the non-collar beam between the double-shaft of the high-rise pier and the added-collar beams for the longest cantilever construction and the final completion are analyzed.
Research conclusions: The influence of the stability by the collar beam for the double-shaft and thin-wall high-rise pier is preliminarily given; the collar-beam is making a larger contribution to the straight forward stability for the bridge, and has little effect for the lateral stability; increasing the collar-beam between the thin-wall piers , the contribution for the stability comes to the stabilization. The collar-beam between the thin-wall piers is effectively increasing the stability for the double-shaft and thin-wall high-rise pier bridge, but after a certain extent, increasing the numbers of the collar-beam is not apparent.

Analyses of the Displacement Caused by Shield Construction
WANG Yu-hua,LI Hai - min,WANG Li-jun
Research purposes : The scale of the displacement is essential to the successful construction of tunnel in city. The boring parameters should be decided rationally through making analyses of the stratum stress change, soil loss and deformation of pipe lining caused by shield construction for the purposes of establishing effective soil pressure balance, reducing the disturbance, stratum and stratum loss, and guaranteeing construction safety.
Research Conclusions:Taking the shield construction of bidding 19 of Line 4 of Beijing metro as an example, this paper analyzes the stratum stress change caused by the excavation and the displacement caused by stratum loss with the monitoring and measurement on the site. The results of analysis and measurement show the deformations can be controlled in the prescribed limit if the parameters of soil pressure, synchronic grouting and boring speed are decided rationally and an effective soil pressure balance is established.

Treatment Technology for Water and Mud Bursting on 1·21 in Maluqing Tunnel of Yichang-Wanzhou Rail
ZHANG Min-qing,HUANG Hong-jian,ZHANG Sheng-xue,WU Jun,LI Xie-huai
Research purposes:Based on the introduction to the water and mud bursting process in the Maluqing Tunnel, pumping and draining water test and constructing water stopping plug in the earth's surface deep hole, and observation of water stopping plug circa opened out by excavation in the course of tunnel construction, this paper analyzes the reason for the failure of stop water plug, discusses the water stopping plug mechanism, and presents the measure for improving the technology for construction of water stopping plug for the purpose of accumulating experience for the similar engineering in future.
Research conclusions: If the most substances in water and mud bursting are mud and sand, it is difficult for pumping water to treat water and mud bursting. In this case, the water stopping plug should be adopted to treat water and mud bursting. Based on the verification of the shearing force, the plug length should be designed according to the characters of water and mud bursting and grouting mechanism. The medium of the water and mud bursting in the Maluqing Tunnel is the cohesive soil and water, so the grouting mechanism should has the hustle-sediment action, the hydrate- concretion action and the float - sediment action in the cement concretion by the effect of the rainfall and the disconnected grouting. Therefore, the length of the water stopping plug must be of 10-20 times of the hole diameter.

Construction Technology of Tunnel Entrance
WU Rong-feng
Research proposes:The construction of tunnel entrance is the key part of the whole engineering. According to the characteristics of the tunnel entrance, how to think in advance to design feasible scheme for the construction of entering the tunnel is the most important step. This scheme should not only decrease the engineering quantity of the tunnel entrance slope excavation and the support, but also protect the protophyte around the entrance. It can simultaneously accelerate the project progress and ensure the construction safety.
Research results:The tunnel entrance construction should be based on site topography, geology, hydrology, from the environmental point of view, to develop a scientific and rational program hole, using a reasonable construction technology, methods and steps to carry out the construction. The paper explains that the long-span tunnel construction method should be changed into the small-span method(such as CD method, CRD method, etc.)and auxiliary construction methods(such as ring type excavation with conservation of core soil, advanced entrance construction method, etc.),so as to effectively solve the potential safety problems and environmental problems.

Numerical Simulation for the Effect of Tunnel Shaft Construction on Buried Pipelines
FANG Hua,LI Guo-cheng, DING Lie-yun,LI Xiao-qing, WU Xian-guo,LUO Han-bin
Research purposes: Investigating the effect of Wuhan Yangzte River tunnel construction on buried pipelines is very important to ensure the construction safety. 3-D FEM is applied to model the deformational coupling effect for the north side shaft diaphragm, surrounding soil and buried pipelines. Construction effect on pipe deformation is analyzed in terms of excavation steps, pipe material, buried depth, distance to pit, pipe diameter and wall thickness of pipe.
Research conclusions: Take the north side shaft construction of Wuhan Yangzte River tunnel for example, this paper analyzes the construction effect in terms of excavation steps, pipe material, buried depth, distance to pit, pipe diameter and wall thickness of pipe. The result indicates that the pipeline displacement increases as excavation depth. The magnitude of the displacement is mainly determined by the first two excavation stages. The first two excavation stages should be strictly monitored; for the sake of diaphragm wall, end-effect exists on the pipeline. End-effect becomes distinct as close to the pit. And the displacement mode is changed for the sake of end-effect; outer diameter and thickness of pipeline has no distinct effect on pipeline displacement; multiple types of pipelines have no distinct effect on each other when they exist together.

Application of Multiple-goal Planning Theory in Tunnel Excavation Subsequence
CONG En-wei
Research purposes: To the excavation of sectional tunnel with multiple canes, the different excavation subsequences have the different poured stresses and folded routs, resulting in different results. Especially when conducting construction very soon, the stratum change caused by the excavation directly influences the displacement and deformation of existing structure, so it is very important to do research on the excavation subsequence of sectional tunnel with multiple zones. Taking subsurface excavation of Guoshuang Section of Line 10 of Beijing metro underpass the existing Line 1 as an example, this paper introduces the application of multiple-goal planning theory in optimizing the excavation subsequence of tunnel.
Research results:Through calculating and optimizing the excavation subsequence with multiple-goal planning theory, and taking many rational technical measures , the subsidence of the existing Line 1 under-passed by Line 10 in Guoshuang Section is effectively controlled and the max. subsidence value is 4. 83 mm, which is less than the limitation value of 5 mm and guarantees the construction safety and normal operation of existing Line 1.

The Application of Nondestructive Testing Using Radar in Tunnel Lining
WANG Hong-liang,ZHANG Yun-liang,AN Yong-lin, PENG Li-min
Research purposes: It is of significance to detect secondary lining's defect of tunnels as well as to repair and strengthen the secondary lining. Radar was applied to detect lining's defect in Jiaoxiling tunnels. Direct stiffness method was used to study the influence of holes on the lining mechanics.
Research conclusions:Main defects of the secondary, holes lying behind the crown, and the next is seepage. The secondary lining mechanic is showed to be very complex and unfavorable due to holes. The weak parts locate the crown and middle of the arch. The first reason of lining defect is that construction had not adopted IVATM and had not caught the key design meaning. The next reason is that it is hard to fill the crown fully and densely. Some treatments are presented if the hole size lying behind the crown is very large to ensure the operation in safety.

The Comparison of Evacuation Methods in City Underwater Tunnel
FANG Zheng,HUANG Song-tao,YUAN Jian-ping,YIN Zuo-cheng
Research purposes: As there are more and more urban underwater tunnel being constructed, fire safety in these tunnels becomes a big issue during the design and management, and it is very important to explore how to deal with the tunnel fire. In the urban underwater tunnel, the vehicle and people flow is huge and the tunnel is U-type,so it is difficult for people to egress when a fire breaks out.
Research conclusions:Generally, there are three types of evacuation in the tunnel, which are the corridor neighbour tunnel evacuation, the special horizontally tunnel evacuation and the inner vertically evacuation. Through the comparison among these evacuation methods, it is concluded that the evacuation type and the distance between two transverse tunnels should be determined by the geological and constructional condition.
