Abstract：Nowadays, the urban rail transit in China has mainly three types: the large capacity subways, the medium capacity light-rail traffic and the suburban railways. The paper analyzes the problems existing in the national urban traffic and the developing tendency of traffic in the large cities. The advantages of urban rail transit arc expounded, and the suggestions to enhance the planning of urban rail transit are proposed, so as to promote the sustainable development of the large cities in China.
