Abstract：The paper introduces the "railway subgrade general CAD system" which was an essential science-technology developing item of the Ministry of Railways in the “Ninth Five-year” period. The system may be considered as an important integrated software for the integration of the railway survey and design. The system makes the subgrade computer aided design technique carrying forward to a completely new level based on advanced software technology and quite new design theory and conception.
