Abstract:Research purposes: By force of the deficiency of soil resources and the filling in the plain area railway constructions, this paper introduces geosynthetic steepened embankment slopes to save soil resources.
Research methods:This paper compares and analysis the slope stability with the filling and geosynthetic examination mechanics coefficients by the Xi’an hinge north cincture railway project as example.
Research results : The high-density polyethylene reinforcement geogrid samdwich used in the steepened embankment slopes can meet the stability regulations.
Research conclusions:The geosynthetic had been used to steepened embankment slopes can save the soil resources in the plain area where the soil resources are deficiency and precious. And geosynthetic reinforcement embankment slope can obtain great economy and social benefit on plain agriculture high yield area. This paper broadens the applications of geosynthetic in railway subgrade engineering.
