Abstract During the construction of a special railway line for the Chang-Shan Cement Plant closely nearby the Hengyang-Guangzhou Double-frack Electrified Railway, the controlled blasting technique was applied for excavating the high cutting slopes. The procedure and the technical feafures this excavating technique are introduced systematically in this paper. For proceeding the blasting excavating works under the complex blasting circumstances in which the catenary networks and the high-voltage power lines are nearby and the traffic safety may be influenced much easy, this tecnigue is very raluable for reference.
