Abstract This paper describes the inevitability, necessity and feasibiity to reform the main?tenance regulation of equipment based on analysing the importance of the maintenance of e?quipment. It is scientific and rational to adopt diagnosis techniques and to pursue state mainte nance for equipments. Pursuing state maintenance (i. e. repair according to condition of equip?ment )can obtain most economical lifetime-cyele cost of equipment.
