Abstract In this paper,the structure geological environment and engineering petrofabric en?vironment of railway tunnel，the engineering geological characters and geological hazards of tunnel in different formation petrofabrics in China are discussed first of all. The main ad?vances in tunnel engineering geological science and technology in China are then introduced. Lastly，author^ opinions on focal points of funnel engineering geological sturiy in the near future in China are raised.
