Abstract In this pa per, the space f ree vibra tion analysis model for t rack structure is established. By means of the finite element theo ry, the inherent f requencies a nd vibra tion cha racteri stics fo r existing rail line under di fferent suppo rting conditio ns a re analyzed. Combining the di scussio n of stabili ty o f vehicle snake mov ement, the ef fects on t ransv erse stabi li ty of inc rea sing speed rail line are studied a nd th e enha nced measurements are presented.
