Abstract External hydraulic pressure upon tunnel lining is one of important factors of design lining in tunnel engineer?ing. How to calculate external hydraulic pressure upon tunnel lining is an urgent problem. The former relevant researches may be divided in to the followings: reduction coefficient method, theory analysis method, theory analysis and numerical analysis compositive method, numerical analysis method (seepage, coupled seepage and stress fields), and so on. So far, these researches results have not satisfied the need of practical tunnel projects completely yet.
