Abstract It is without rebuke to take form as the starting point of architecture design. But it has to obstruct the innovation and development of architecture to think highly of the form and neglect architectural composition logic of architecture. The architectural composition put forward by K Franputon contrasts sharply with formalism. It is obviously found out from "water cube"(scheme wining the bidding of National Swimming Centre)that the architectural composition philosophy was applied successfully in architecture design and got effective response to formalism.
