Abstract Research purposes:For reducing the impact of the cross - over construction of the long belt surface conveyance corridor for limestone of the cement plant on the shallow - buried section of the right tunnel of the Wanhuayan Tunnel ( under construction) of Chenzhou - Ningyuan Highway,the study was done and the analysis is made for the causes for the collapse of the working face of the tunnel in early stage under the conditions of initial support,and the causes for the roof collapse are found out by means of test analogue of steel frame support and approximate analysis of supports under the condition. of the reinforcement for the tunnel in later stage. The discussion is made on the reinforcement scheme for the tunnel in later stage from the aspects of economy,technology and risk.Finally,aiming at the hidden risks,the reasonable measures are offered for avoiding the risks to reduce loss.
Research conclusions: The adjacent ( interface) constructions of the corridor and tunnel from above must be reported for approval according to relevant construction procedure. For the synchronical constructions,the construction sequences of " the engineering at lower place before the engineering at high place" and " important engineering before ordinary engineering" should be followed.For the shallow tunnel that its roof will collapse under the initial support due to the full~heavy weathered surrounding rock and long-span in,the surface grouting should be conducted first to ensure the safety of person and final implementation of the option.
