Research conclusions： For normal-speed railway, the first is to choose the balance gravity shoulder retaining wall when the ground transverse slope is cliffy or needs to reduce its width and the second is to choose convex broken line shape retaining wall. The embankment wall, cutting wall and gravity retaining wall of the high -speed railway should adopt the type oblique to soil. The lectotype and arrangement of the retaining wall should be decided by the following factors; difference between the normal-speed railway and the high-speed railway , immersed or non-immersed and the limited occupation of land.
