Abstract Research purposes：From the general distribution o f Fujian Railway Network Planning, the different views are expressed on the alignment and problem s of Changting-Yong’an-Quanzhou Railway. The new alignment o f rail way is presented to make the railway distribution in the southwest o f Fujian more reasonable and better and to make the railway becoming the strong-capacity and rapid transport corridor of Quanzhou Port.
Research conclusions：It is proposed after outgoing of the Changting-Yong’an-Quanzhou Railway from Yong’an, it passes through Qingliu and Ninghua , then westerly goes to Shicheng, Ningdu and Jican and finally will connect with the planned Jingmen-Yueyang-Jican Railway in Jican. The new alignment of the Changting-Yongcan-Quanzhou Railway will fill up the railway blank in the southwest of Fujian Province, connect with railway trunk more smoothly and shorten the space-time distance between the southwest of Fujian and Central China and Western China. This has a vital significance for enlarging the hinterland of Quanzhou Port, strengthening radiation of the Economic Zone of the West Taiwan Strait to the hinterland and promoting the trade exchanges between the main land and Taiwan.
