| Application of Churning Jet Pile and SMW Pile in Exterior-protected Construction of Foundation Pit |

Abstract Research purposes：Taking the deep foundation pit construction for Jinyilu Station of Tianjin metro as the background, the discussions are made on the engineering principles of churning jet pile and SMW pile and the quality control measures for them, and the summary is made on their applications in exterior-protected construction for the purpose of providing the reference to the exterior-protected construction of foundation pit in soft soil area.
Research conclusions：The research on the exterior -protected construction of foundation pit for Jinyilu Station of Tianjin metro shows SMW pile along with churning jet pile is feasible as the exterior -protected construction of foundation pit and is worth using widely. The H steel used in SMW pile can improve the pile strength and can be used again to save the cos.t However, the piling quality should be guaranteed, especially the pile strength and impermeability, to meet the construction requirements.
