This paper describes the operation practice of heavier axle load car in foreign countries and the research work about the effect of increasing axle load of freight car on rail?way track at home and abroad. On these grounds, it proposes the necessary measures for strengthening and maintaining Chinese railway track structure when the axle load of freight car will gradually be increased to 25t.
