Abstract

Research purposes: Aiming at the variety of environmental noise along the line before and after implementation of the sixth raising railway speed , this paper does the reseach to reduce people' s worry about the increasing of environmental noise pollution along the line.
Research methods: Four principal factors, namely, locomotive style, speed of the train, frequency of the train passing by and track condition, are discussed in the paper, which will influence the environmental noise along the railway after performing raising railway speed. Environmental noise in a residential community nearby Hu-Ning and Hu-Hang railways in Shanghai has been monitored in situ before and after implementation of the sixth raising railway speed. By comparing them with each other, we can verify our conclusion.
Research results: There is little difference in environmental noise before and after raising railway speed.
Research conclusions: Raising railway speed does not exert a tremendous influence on environment, but has quit good economic benefits and social effect.
