Abstract Research purposes: Xi'an Railway Hub Planning (2016-2030) was first approved by the whole railway. At present, there are still some problems that EMU supporting facilities capacity is insufficient and imbalance. It is necessary to improve transportation efficiency, reduce cost and increase efficiency and promote high-quality railway development on the basis of the overall planning of the hub and in combination with the requirements of EMU repair system reform in recent years, comprehensively sort out the EMU supporting facilities in the hub, find out the possible problems in the future through capacity analysis, and put forward adjustment and optimization suggestions for the layout of EMU supporting facilities in the hub, so as to improve the utilization rate of supporting facilities and maximize the efficiency of transportation organization.
Research conclusions: (1)The EMU maintenance facilities at Xi'an station need to be coordinated and utilized byrelevant EMU section in the hub, and storage facilities should be configured in conjunction with EMU operation. (2)Xi'anbei EMU depot and Xi'anbei EMU section undertake the EMU maintenance needs of other stations. On the basis of existing passenger train technical servicing equipment, Xi'an railway station will add EMU supporting facilities. Xi'andong EMU section will be expanded in a timely manner as needed in the long term. The new Xi'annan railway station needs to be built and equipped with a reserved EMU section.(3)The research result can provide a reference for optimizing layout in other railway hubs across the country.
