Abstract Research purposes: In order to improve the overall quality of the second lining of the railway tunnel and prevent the cavity in the vault, this paper mainly studies on the prevention of cavity in the second-lining arch with mould grouting, and studies the prevention of non-compactness of the second-lining arch waist and arch wall with press-in-mould. Research conclusions: (1) During the implementation of vault grouting with mould, the grouting pipe and exhaust pipe are arranged in the vault, the slightly expanded cement slurry is pressed, the cavity gas is discharged, the cavity is filled tightly, and the quality of the second lining vault is improved. (2) During the implementation of the arch waist and arch wall with press-in-mould, the concrete of the arch waist and arch wall is poured into the formwork by the uniform pressure of multi-slideways, and the quality of the second-lining arch waist and arch wall is improved. (3) Both are used in the construction of the second lining of the tunnel, and the construction sequence is first the construction of the press-in-mould followed by the construction of the grouting with the mould, which improves the overall quality of the second lining of the tunnel and solves the problem that the second lining of the railway tunnel can not be eradicated for many years. (4) The research results can provide reference for improving the overall quality of the second lining in the tunnel construction in the fields of railway and highway.
