Abstract Research purposes:To enhance the passengers ride comfort on the high-speed trains, the design and optimization of high-speed railway lines should be paid much attention to as well as speed up improving performance of high-speed trains. Therefore, the relationship between the comfort and line parameters of high-speed railway has been systematically analyzed and researched. Research conclusions:(1) The evaluation model of comfort based on line parameters has been established and the corresponding evaluation interval has been determined. (2) According to code for design of high speed railway (trail), during line parameter design, not only the practical landform and working conditions should be considered, but also the ride comfort ought to meet the needs of passengers. Thus, a relatively reasonable line can be designed by choosing plane and vertical curve parameters. (3) After the analysis of the design and optimization of plane curve radius based on the comfort of passengers, the recommended minimum of plane curve radius under different running speed can be obtained. (4) The research results can provide better guidance for the design and optimization of high-speed railway lines in future.
