Analysis of Impact of Shield Tunneling on Displacement of Existed Bridge Foundation |

Abstract Research purposes:The shield tunneling has the complicated impact on surrounding soil and existed structures,and analysis of the impact of the shield tunneling on the surrounding bridge foundation has significant engineering value and research meaning. Taking a tunnel excavation project as the background,a 3D finite element model is established by using ABAQUS to simulate the whole shield tunnelling process on considering the nonlinear characteristics of the soil-structure,and the displacement laws of the bridge abutment and pile foundation in the course of the shield tunneling are obtained.
Research conclusions:The results show that the soil in the place ahead rise to the maximum volume of 4.287 mm under the effect of excavation pressure of the working face,and the soils above and at back of the shield settle with the maximum settlement volume of 6.651 mm under joint effects of the soil loss,stress release and gap of shield end caused by the tunneling.Furthermore,the vertical,transverse and longitudinal displacements of bridge abutment while tunneling can not be ignored. The impact of the base displacement of the abutment should be considered while analyzing the bridge superstructure.
