Abstract Research purposes: The evaluation of water—inrush risk of railway karst tunnel with the analytic hierarchy process is to quantify the factors of water—inrush risks,work out relatively superior or illf:erior ordering weight through the calculation of various risk factors relate to the total goal of water—inrush risk evaluation,and compare the weight among the various factors to evaluate the water—-inrush risks of karst tunnel under different hydrogeological conditions or in different sections of karst tunnel.
Research conclusions:The evaluation of water——inrush risks of karst tunnel with the analytic hierarchy process can overcome the deviations caused by man"s subjectivity.This evaluation method was used for evaluation of the water—inrush risks of the underground river channel in Deshengchang and the slope in entry area of Qiyue Mountain Tunnel of Yichang—Wanzhou Railway.It was concluded the water—inrush risks of these areas were high and the evaluated results basically corresponded to the water—inrush conditions during the tunnelling.
