Abstract The rational selection of linear index for high-speed highway not only assists the safety of running,
but also assists the stability of subgrade and good looks of environment. In order to tally highway subgrade with
landform, avoid deep filling and excavation engineering, and guarantee safety of running and environment
protection, the principle of "Taking man as basis, safety as top and environment protection as priority" should
be adhered to linear design of mountain high-speed highway.
