Abstract Research purposes:Shield launching and receiving is one of the most important process during shield tunneling. Large investment and high risk will be encountered in ground reinforcement for shield launching shaft,and engineering accidents also frequently happen due to insufficient reinforcement. Therefore,the reinforcement method and its relevant range should be made clear based on kinds of geological conditions and reinforcement requirements,and some specific construction method should also be put forward in some specific construction conditions.
Research conclusions:From the study,it is concluded:(1)The longitudinal reinforcement length should be the sum of shield length and 1-2 times of segment width which is determined by soil stability and watertightness. The reinforcement length which is determined by soil stability is only 3-4 m. ( 2 ) The limitation of hinge plate with sealing rubber sheet is put forward due to rubber aging and the relatively lower sealing pressure,and also the box sealing device is applied in slurry shield project due to the relatevily higher sealing pressure and reliable performance.(3)The advantages of shield airtight launching device on risk control, construction period guarantee,and environment protection are made clear.(4)The shield airtight launching device can be adopted in all types of shield launching project especially for strict control requirement of surrounding environment and no pipeline movement.
