Abstract With objective functions the minimum strain energy of girders and minimum height of pagoda, the optimal model of pagoda height of low pagoda cable-stayed bridge is built, and the feasibility of reducing the height of pagoda by adjusting cable's prestress is investigated. Taking a low pagoda cable-stayed bridge as an example, the paper analyze the effect of adjusting cable's prestress when change the pagoda height of low pagoda cable-stayed bridge with single-two and two-spans. The conclusions arc valuable reference for further understand the characteristics of low pagoda cable-stayed bridge and the optimal design of pagoda height of other similar structures.
