Abstract At present, the USLE was usually used to predict the loss of soil and water along railway in the evaluation of the influences on the ecological environment due to railway construction, and there had been several regional prediction equations in our country. In the paper, by comparison and analyzing, it was found that using LISLE directly to predict loss of soil and water along railway can lead to much error. In the end of the paper, several suggestions about predicting loss of soil and water along railway were proposed.
