Abstract At first , f rom the co ntinui ty and reversibi li ty of the so lution based of the finite di splacement theo ry , a theo retical proo f has been made on the inv erted-disassemble computational method fo r the structural analysis of the loading cha racteristics in the erectio n process o f the suspensio n bridg e. Then, a“ modi fied inv erted-disassemble method” recommended by the autho r is int roduced in thi s paper. This method may be used as a computa tiona l method fo r analy zing the loading characteri stics in the erectio n process of the suspensio n bridg e. Furthermore, the co rrectness o f this method i s v erified by the computa tional examples.
