Abstract The main stratum the tunnel passes through is limestone of Carboniferous Series (Cl) of Palaeozoic Group, taking 95% of the total length. In the geological history, the karst development underwent a special process which was influenced by the tectogenesis, forming a unique karst featuie. The karst of this type fornis a series of special engineering geology problems.
