Abstract Huangci Landslide with large scale and complicated conditions，was located in Yongjing County,Gansu Province of China. By using varous monitoring measures systemati?cally, the abrupt sliding time was predicted exactly based on the deformation power of slide body and the creep rupture of landslide. A set of theory and method for predicting the abrupt sliding time of a landslide and some useful conclusions were proposed in the present paper.
