Abstract With the development of remote sensing technology，the conventional manual ap?proach for image interpretation can not meet the increasing needs of more and more informa?tion. So as a substitution of manual approach,an automatic image interpretation has to be adopted. Taken expert system as the guide，digital image processing and pattern recognition technique as the methods,an semi-automatic recognition expert system of fault structure is developed in the way of combined man-machne interaction in this paper. The expert system is completed on IBM-PC with C language.
