Abstract Hydraulic jump value existing in tunnel is a factor causing water leakage in the tunnel, The hydraulic jump value is generally bigger than the height of the tunnel，therefore the underground water cannot be lowered below the top of the tunnel. In this paper，based on the engineering examples，several methods for calculating the hydraulic jump values have been introduced.
