7 Research on the Plan of Port Railway

Research purposes: With the continuing rapid development of China national economy and the deepening of economic globalization, the growth of the port handling capacity grows rapidly. So, the new port rail plan is needed. From analysis of the characteristics of the port volume, rail leapfrog-development of the railway transportation capacity, port and city planning, this paper draws the key factors affecting the port rail planning and gives a new idea.
Research methods: On basis of existing port rail planning and through survey and systematic study this paper deeply discusses the plan of port railway.
Research results: Port transport volume and operations have their own characteristics, port and railway development by leaps and bounds and the new changes affect port rail port city planning layout.
Research conclusions: Port general plan should adapt to the port rail transport volume features. At the same time, the national rail network should integrate with port general plan. We must emphasize the importance of port plan, strengthen the business management and improve transport efficiency.

10 Selection of Target Values of Time and Speed for Changchun-Jilin Intercity Rail

Research purposes: This paper's aims were target values of time and speed which was suited to the features of the railway, satisfied with transport requirement, accorded to railway developing strategy and realized to the best economic benefit.
Research methods: Combining with the regional economy and the transport features of the intercity rail this paper compared and analyzed the economy and adaptability of the target value of different speeds adopted.
Research results: This paper initially determined the target values of time and speed for the Changchun-Jilin intercity rail.
Research Conclusions: The target value of time was controlled within one hour and adopted with 250km/h, which were suitable to regional economic features and accorded to the speedy development of passenger railway. It was the best scheme to realize the maximum economic benefit of the project.

15 The Idea and Evaluation of General Design for Train Ferry on Qiongzhou Straits and Review

Research purposes: According to the files from the process of pre-study, design, building and operation for train ferry on Qiongzhou Straits, this paper summarizes the thinking of system design for train ferry at that time and explores the regular patterns of it from system viewpoint.
Research methods: It is a very complicated system inside and outside to the system of train ferry on Qiongzhou Straits. It would be different to research methods of complicated systems with different thinking. It would be studied with system viewpoint to the thinking of system design for train ferry on Qiongzhou Straits.
Research results: It synthesizes the needs of railway, ferry and harbor etc. to the thinking of system design for train ferry on Qiongzhou Straits, and realizes the scheduled functions of it. It could be success to the thinking of system design for train ferry on Qiongzhou Straits at that time, from the process of pre-study, design, building and operation for train ferry on Qiongzhou Straits.
Research conclusions: It is impossible for train ferry replaced by railway bridges or tunnels and it would have a huge space to develop. More attentions should be given to train ferry in making criteria, research key problems, cultivate essential technical personals and form complete technology so that train ferry would be one of the components of railway technologies.

21 Discussion on Modes of Heavy Haul Transport Organization and Railway Track Improvement

Research purposes: The analysis and discussion are made of the two important issues of heavy haul railway, namely the transportation organization and the existing railway improvement, in order to summarize the common mode available for the current domestic conditions and provide effective and practicable plans.
Research methods: The common features are presented and several possible modes are offered for heavy haul transportation and track improvement based on the examples of Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway and Beitongpu Railway.
Research results: According to the heavy haul railway's transporting characteristics that the transported goods mainly is coal, all the links of loading, transportation, unloading, empty car backing and the management of locomotives shall be paid attention to in transportation organization. The rail, subgrade, bridge and culverts should be improved to track.
Research Conclusions: In accordance with different transport features of heavy haul railway the different transport modes are proposed, that is, haul load should be up to 5 000 tons, 10 000 tons and 20000 tons. The circulating transport method of unloading wagon tipper directly should be adopted to shorten the marshalling and decomposing time. The arrival and departure tracks in technical station and intermediate station should be long enough to meet requirements subgrade, bridges and culverts should be improved with higher standard.

24 Typical Examples of Route Selection Based on Geological Conditions for Reconstruction of Guizhou-Guangxi Railway

Research purposes: Guizhou-Guangxi Railway locates in mountain area of Southwestern China and crosses Guizhou province and Guangxi autonomous region. The topography and geology along the line are very complicated and seriously affects the route selection. Therefore, it is necessary to survey geological conditions widely in the region for route selection on primary survey stage for reconstruction of Guizhou-Guangxi Railway in order to save project cost, reduce geological disasters and work hazards, and eliminate potential troubles in operation.
Research methods: On the basis of collecting geological information in the region the route selection program was decided from point of geological view through making systematical exploration by means of geological survey, boring and static penetration tests to find out serious problems related to engineering geology.
Research results: Through making comparison of geological conditions in different route selection programs, finally the route selection program with better geological conditions was decided.
Research Conclusions: The topography and geological conditions are very complicated in Southwestern China, so the full investigation of geological conditions along the line should be made so as to avoid complicated and seriously unfavorable geological section in course of route selection. The systematical introduction is given to several typical examples of route selection based on geological conditions on the primary survey stage for reconstruction of Guizhou-Guangxi Railway, and the brief discussion is made on avoiding serious geological trouble in course of route selection. The thoughts, comparison conditions and evaluation opinions introduced in this paper route selection can be used for reference to the survey and design of other mountain railways.

30 Study of Green Corridor in Railway Section

Research purposes: The construction of green corridor is one of the important composing parts of Chinese land green construction. The construction of railway green corridor is one of the main works of green corridor and the study of how to make railway green corridor is significant.
Research methods: Taking High speed Railway for example,the paper discussed the construction methods of green corridor in railway section with the reference of construction experience of expressway and railway in the same area.
Research results: This paper summarized the green principle to railway subgrade slope and to two sides’ tree-planting area.
Research conclusions: According to the green principle to railway subgrade slope and to tree-planting area, the choice of grass seed and tree kind was put forward as well as the tree ordonnance and location.

34 The Mathematical Models of Establishing Independent Coordinate System for High-speed Railway Surveying

Research purposes: In high-speeding railway surveying, the integrated coordinate system is often across several projective zones because railway is too long, so its length deformation is too big to meet the requirements of railway surveying. Therefore, some necessary restricted measures should be taken to make the projection length deformation less than 1/40 000 in order to meet the requirement of accuracy for railway surveying.
Research methods: The cause for length deformation in the coordinate system for railway surveying is analyzed first in this paper, then the mathematical models of establishing a independent section coordinate system for solving the length deformation in the coordinate system are given in order to make the projection length deformation less than 1/40 000.
Research results: The four mathematical methods of establishing a independent section coordinate system presented in this paper can effectively solve the length deformation in the coordinate system.
Research Conclusions: Using four models can solve the length deformation in the coordinate system for railway surveying meet the need of engineering surveying be widely used in railway surveying in easily. The models are very useful to construction of high-speed railway and the future.

37 Dynamic Design of Stiffness Transition of Turnout in Ballastless Track of Suining-Chongqing Railway

Research purposes: The main purposes of research are to clarify the stiffness characteristic of block section and turnout area in integral trial section for ballastless track on Suining-Chongqing Railway. In order to improve comfortableness and prolong the service life of the track structure, the stiffness transion should be set between block section and turnout area. And this paper proposes the transition design between block section and turnout area on Suining-Chongqing railway.
Research methods: Based on a theory of train-track coupling dynamics model, the stiffness characteristic of ballastless track in block section and in turnout area in the Suining-Chongqing Railway is analyzed.
Research results: There is more track stiffness difference between block section and turnout area. Results obtained from the paper show that track stiffness in turnout area is 2~3 times as track stiffness in block section of integral trial section for ballastless track on Suining-Chongqing Railway. Track stiffness transitions should be set there.
Research Conclusions: The method of the hierarchical track stiffness can be applied in the stiffness transition section of the turnout and the stiffness is set about 18 sleeper spaces per grade. When the dynamic slope of the deflection of rail is less than 0.3 mm/m, the dynamic performance of the stiffness transition of turnout is satisfactory.

41 Exploration on Pier Bearing Structure Design of Routine Conductive Maglev Train

Research purposes: Maglev train runs above the track and it run quickly safely and cozily. It generates low yawp, no wheel-rail friction, no pollution, so it has a great future and must be a new kind of important vehicle in 21 century. The following paper describes the design theory of routine conductive maglev train pier bearing structure.
Research methods: Upper support structure is analyzed as a gate-style frame. Elastic foundation beam theory is applied to analyze inner force and deformation in bottom beam.
Research results: Contra pose maglev engineering, the article describes design load, calculate model, calculate pattern, structure calculate methods and structure design about the primary structure. The theory has adopted in a number of project experiments.
Research conclusions: The theory and structure design method is reasonable and credible by project experiments and function practices for four years, which can run suspended and be popularized greatly.

46 Treatment Measures and Experience in Making High Temperature Closure of Rigid Framed Continuous Girders
ZHANG Cheng-zhi, SHI Wen-sheng
Research purposes: The 38 m+62 m+38 m rigid framed continuous girders of Nancang extra-long bridge of Tianjin railway terminal was designed for the closure under normal temperature. However, due to the impacts of the special conditions of removal and resettlement work the main span closure of the bridge was delayed until summer making high temperature closure inevitable. Based the this bridge, this paper briefly introduced some treatment measures for and personal experience in bridge closure under high temperatures for the purpose of providing certain reference and help to similar structural design and construction.
Research methods: Combined with the temperature environment when the closure of the bridge was made, a techno-economic analysis was performed based on the high temperature closure scheme. And the study was conducted by using the method of structural analysis and calculation in combination with field survey.
Research results: This paper suggested a whole set of successful construction experience and technical measures based on the high temperature closure.
Research conclusions: The combined scheme of temperature drop by shed-kept ice blocks and the application of jacking force to the mid-span closure section is a good example of treatment. This scheme is feasible in operation with good results and suitable for medium and minor span bridges, but should be carefully used for large span bridge structures attributable to the comparatively large working face.

49 The Design and Calculation for One of the Closed Type U Shape through Cutting in Tianjin

Research purposes: On the basis of the fact that the road for one of the crossing of highway and railway in Tianjin drilled through the ground water cutting the problems in seepage and permeability of the ground water were solved through making researches on the design and calculation for the closed type U shape through cutting.
Research methods: According to the geological and hydrological conditions for this project and in combination with the research achievements at home and several successful practical examples, the analysis and calculation have been made on the design type selection, the stress of side wall and bottom board for the closed type U shape through cutting.
Research results: A set of successful design and calculation method was explored through the discussion for the related theory and technics problems of the closed type U shape through cutting. And a design example and experience to further extend the use of this structure type was provided.
Research conclusions: The closed type U shape through cutting is a new structure type, which is suitable to be used in the through cutting where soil is highly penetrable with water or ground water.

54 Analysis of Treatment of Karst in Ganxigou Tunnel

Research purposes: The development of karst in limestone area is complicated and changeable. The purposes of this study are to sum up experiences of solving karst problems in combination with the treatment of karst in Ganxingou Tunnel on Yuhuai railway.
Research methods: The proper measures for treatments of foundation shall be selected and adopted after knowing the development scale and range, and lithology features of filling materials by doing detailed investigation.
Research results: All karst caves in Ganxingou Tunnel have been treated effectively and good result has been obtained.
Research conclusions: Properly different treatments shall be adopted according to different conditions because the development of karst is complicated and changeable. When the depth of filling material is unknown, expanding the excavation area to provide enough space and freedom degrees for the detection and structural disposal is appropriate. When the tunnel passes through groundwater circulation zones and the draining base-level is deeper (many deep ravines in the section), the impact of groundwater shall be ignored. The karst cave shall be treated as dry one, but the drainage channels should be reserved for avoiding the groundwater flooding the cave. More security coefficient should be remained for the impact force and other uncertain factors affecting the structural foundation with dynamic and static framework by train passing through.

59 Improvement and Settlement Control of the Foundation of Ballastless Track Culvert

Research purposes: In the design of ballastless track of passenger dedicated railway line, this paper discusses how to improvement and settlement control of the foundation of culvert.
Research methods: Based on analyzing the component of the culvert settlement after construction, considering the roadbed settlement, unevenness development and maintenance capacity, and comparing the investment of prophase construction to the maintenance costs, the reasonable quantity of the settlement after construction for the culvert of ballastless track are gained.
Research results: Through systematically analyzing and comparing, the general measures of culvert foundation improvement are drainage and consolidation method and complex foundation method. According to the roadbed soil type and foundation improvement method, relevant computational theory can be selected to calculate settlement.
Research Conclusions: Because of localization of the settlement computational theory observation in site should be given priority in the forecast of the settlement after construction. Based on analyzing the observation data, the settlement after construction can be forecasted.

64 Preliminary Discuss of Overhead Catenary System Project of Haerbin Metro Line

Research purposes: In order to improve the quality and to reduce the investment of this engineering the overhead catenary system project of Haerbin metro line should be confirmed by comprehensive economy and technique comparison.
Research methods: According to verify the structure size of the tunnel the feasible catenary projects would be confirmed; According to the comparison of technique and investment the most suitable project would be chosen.
Research results: The whole main line of this engineering project is underground. Every technique capabilities of the rigid suspension can meet requires of this engineering project. And the rigid suspension is comparatively suitable than the others in some respects of suspension structure, power wastage, the quantity of maintenance and the investment. The superiority that simple structure and little quantity of maintenance of rigid suspension can be exerted in this engineering project.
Research conclusions: According to the research results, the DC 1500 V rigid suspension overhead catenary system is recommended for the first metro line of Haerbin. Along with the development of the technology of metro line, the suspension type of the catenary system would be ameliorated and consummated continually. According to the practice and condition of the engineering project choosing the most reasonable suspension structure is the key to improve the quality and to reduce the investment of the engineering project.

68 Program Exploration on Establishing Communication Channel Net for Electrified Railway

Research purposes: Remote control system of traction power feeding for electrified railway will be adopted widely with implement of “Medium and Long Term Railway Net”. How to choose proper remote control system of communication channel for electrified railway is important in design, since the system is an important part of traction feeding system.
Research methods: The analysis is made for the requirements of main control station and controlled station for the communication channel and the interface's program. The introduction is given to the construction situation of communication net for electrified railway. The research is made in combination with MSTP technology that is now popular domestically.
Research results: The suggestion is proposed to the program of establishing communication channel of remote control system for electrified railway. The prediction is made about development trend of communication channel of remote control system for electrified railway.
Research conclusions: (1) Remote Control Communication Channel: When there are many controlled stations, especially they occupy many remote communication channels, it suggests to establish 2 Mbps self-heal loop net based on the control-platform unit with adopting 2 M E1 interface, installation of muter in control station and the controlled station and adopting IP searching address mode. If a standby muter is needed two 2 Mbps self-heal loop nets can be established. When there are a few control stations and they seldom occupy remote communication channel, the 64 k point-to-point mode of one-running and one-standby can be adopted with 64 k 4 line audio frequency board and synchronous/asynchronous RS232/RS422/RS485 interface. (2)Video Frequency Communication Channel: When there are many controlled stations, the 2 Mbps self-heal loop net can be established based on the control-platform unit. When there are a few controlled stations and only one or two controlled stations to add,the 2Mbps point to point mode can be adopted for purpose of saving money.(3)MSTP technology, which is now popular in communication field domestically, should be the first choice for construction of the special net for electrified railway. Application of this technology can integrate the controlled station's synthesis automation system, video inspect control system, MIS transmission net together and so on, and realize that one net offers and supports manifold function platform.

73 Exploration on New Type of Catenary Fittings and Quality of Current Collection of Pantograph and OCS for 200km/h Electrified Railway

Research purposes: The purposes are to meet the requirement of quality of current collection of pantograph and OCS for 200km/h electrified railway in mountain area.
Research methods: The detailed introduction is given to different catenary suspension modes, application of accessories and materials quality for different sections under condition that the lowest height of catenary is 6330mm on Suining-Chongqing Railway. It shows the importance of adopting materials with high strength and good tenacity for catenary fittings and light and anti-vibration structure for high-speed railway.
Research results: The analysis is made for the test through test data. The contact force between pantograph and OCS is between 40~200 N. It shows new type fittings can meet the quality requirement of current collection of pantograph and OCS.

76 Program Research on Integrated Grounding System for Passenger Dedicated Railway Line

Research purposes: This paper presents general requirement scope and specification of run-through ground wire, etc. of integrated grounding system. It has a significant meaning to satisfy construction demand of basic works in the civil engineering for passenger dedicated railway line at present.
Research methods: Integrated grounding system for passenger dedicated line is a complicatedly systematical project. Through making analysis of system's necessity and feasibility and program research, various groundings will be combined together properly to guarantee equipotential connection between various systems and between various, and reduce the potential differences between different equipment and between different systems and the hidden safety trouble for person and equipment due to potential difference.
Research conclusions: In order to guarantee operation safety and reliability of the complete system for passenger dedicated railway line, it is feasible to adopt integrated grounding system.

81 Program Research on Resource Sharing for Rolling Stock Base of Tianjin Rail Transit Network

Research purposes: In accordance with the rail rapid transit network plan of Tianjin and the characteristics of fast development of urban infrastructure construction and shortage of land for usage, the research is made on optimizing the scale of rolling stock depot and layout of connecting line rationally through network resource sharing on premise of meeting the requirements of normal operation for each line, in order to control usage of land for rail transit and reduce investment in Metro project.
Research methods: With consideration of the construction sequence of nine metro lines in network, conditions of layout of depot for shop and un-wheeling repair , function and pattern of each line, and consistency, modularization and hereditability of type selection of rolling stock of Metro, the integrally technical comparison is made by adopting methods of program comparison,analysis and calculation of amount of work of shop and un-wheeling repair.
Research results: A set of construction modes for resource sharing by the integral rolling stock base and a series of instructional technical measures are offered through making research according to the situation of fast development of rail transit in China.
Research Conclusions: Two depots for shop and un-wheeling repair rolling stock should be laid out for Tianjin rail rapid transit network,with 6 repair positions totally, including one depot with 4 positions and the other with 2 positions,so it can meet requirements of car running on the planned line in network for shop and un-wheeling repair network and requirements of 4 connecting lines forming a complete network.

86 Research on Problems about Design of Railway Station for Passenger Dedicated Railway Line

Research purposes: The purposes are to study the layout of railway station and design standers for the passenger dedicated railway line.
Research methods: The summary and analysis of technique standards for design railway station is based on existent problems for design of railway station for passenger dedicated railway line, with the request and trait for station work.
Research results: The proposals are offered that the layout mode for design of passenger dedicated railway line for high-speed station and ordinary-peed station; to get calculation formula for access of passage for passenger; to suggest how to lay out the protection line, and to analyze and calculate the parameter and method about how to determinate the number of receiving-departure track, the choice of turnout type, switch layout and standards for design and so on.
Research conclusions: Different yard and different line should be taken up in high-speed station and ordinary-speed station for passenger dedicated railway line. The number of receiving-departure track is 0.0633 times of the converted twain number for passenger train. The least access width of island platform in originating station is 5meters, 4.5 meters with siding platform, and 2.5 meters in intermediated platform. The length of receiving-departure track is 700 meters in station. If the train control system cannot satisfy the tracing determination of trains or cannot ensure the running security of trains, and the protection line should be taken up. Turnout should not be laid out within 20 meters in the point of gradient change or having a distance with the end point of vertical curve.

91 Improvement of Railway Freight Station Function by Means of Concept of Modern Materials Circulation

This tendency of freightage requires railway freight station to have more advanced functions. The railway station should serve flexibly other than accomplishing primary tasks. It is essential to study deeply on change tendency of the functions of railway freight station according as the situations of our country and railway, thereby basing design of freight station fitting the demand of modern logistics theoretically.
Research methods: According modern logistics ideas and the business process of freight station, the author summarizes as follows through investigating and researching.
Research results: Besides strengthen its primary functions continually the railway freight station also should develop distributing, storage service, develop properly distribution processing and packaging, so that it will become the join flat among different transportation modes, fill flat of different logistics demands and social logistics information flat.
Research conclusions: Designers should renovate designing ideas and upgrade designing standards, which make the design and plan of freight station to fit the developing direction of freight, and be helpful to improve the quality of freight and the competence capacity of railway freight market.

The purposes in this paper are guiding technological innovation in engineering field with used innovation theory and methods by developmental country.
Research methods: Exploring a lot of documentations and information in internet, and getting into the products about company developing software, the author use methods of analyzing, generalization and summarization.
Research results: exploring a theory and method to guide the technological innovation action.
Research Conclusions: On based of inducing the cause and traditional methods of innovation the technological innovation action must be guided by scientific theory is discussed in this paper. This theory is TRIZ. The basic principle, system and applications of TRIZ are discussed in the paper. Also the latest effect in information is induced. Finally, a few of enlightenments are put forward in the paper.
