Abstract：The construction practices for recent several years have shown subsurface excavation method has great practical applicability. It is not only applied in construction of subway and station, but also applied in construction of heating distribution pipeline, electric cable, sewage treatment engineering, underground park and underpass engineering. This paper further describes the advantages of subsurface excavation method from the aspects of lowing construction cost, controlling surface settlement and water proofing for tunnel structure.
