RAILWAY NETWORK PLANNING AND CONSTRUCTION COST

Working out well the railway network planning is a key link of earlier-stage works during the construction of railways. The planning must be reasonable with wide scope and high quality,it plays a guiding role in the construction of railways. The estimation of the con-struction cost has special situation,it is not only an important factor of the comprehensive comparison,but also a key factor for guiding the railway investment by economic benefits. In recent earlier-stage works during the construction of railways,for listing the estimated engi-neering costs,there are several existing problems,such as unsuitable with the modern market economy, etc. It is recognized that the way of making estimations should be established as soon as possible,so that the measures for the computerization of estimation,etc,may be real?ized and the quality of estimating the construction cost may be raised.

The mode of transportation of the high-speed and medium-speed mixed traffic is quite different from either the single high-speed traffic or the single medium-speed traffic. Based on the above concept and the present specialities of our railways,and concerned with the track mechanics,the speed matching of the high-speed and medium-speed mixed traffic and its relative problems are discussed in this paper. Several suggestions are also proposed in the paper.

DISCUSSION ON SOLVING THE LENGTH OF REFUGE SIDING BY ANALYSIS METHOD

The paper analyzes the moving state and the characters of the train running into the refuge siding. The length of the refuge siding will be determined by the initial state and the final state of the train,no matter what’s the running procedure of the train. By applying twice the law of conservation of energy,the relative equation for solving the length of the refuge siding has been found. Checked by the calculating examples, the results are accurate and the method is simple and comvenient.

DYNAMIC-STATIC LOAD TESTS AND ANALYESE FOR JIU- JIANG CHANGJIANG GREAT BRIDGE

The paper gives the general descriptions and the procedures of the dynamic and static load tests of the Jiujiang Changjiang Great Bridge. According to the results of these tests,the stiffness of the Great Bridge has been analyzed. The lateral stiffnesses of the three main bridge arches are firmly verified. And thus tthe important technical data are accumulat?ed for evaluating later the dynamic characteristics and the stiffness of the bridge structure with longer span and more complexity.

APPLICATIONS OF BIG-DIAMETER MULTI-PILE BRIDGE FOUNDATIONS IN JAPAN

The big-dianieter multi-pile foundations were applied by the Damingmen Bridge and the transverse bridge at Hengbin Port in Japan. The structures of the bridge foundations and its construction methods are described in this paper,and a rather new scheme for enlarg?ing the bore is proposed. The method described in this paper has better suitability,especially has certain reference value for constructing bridges under the difficult conditions, such as with weak ground,etc.

SPATIAL ANALYSIS METHOD AND COMPUTER PROGRAMS FOR CALCULATING LENGTH OF OBLIQUE CULVERT ON CIRCULAR CURVE

Because of there are many factors which influence the length of the culvert, further?more there are interactions between these factors,therefore the calculation of the length of the culvert is rather complex. Based on the spatial analysis,this problem is treated as a spatial analyt?ic problem with two intersecting equations : (l)a spatial linear equation in which the straight line passes through the inner corner of the cap-beam of the culvert nearby the slope of the. roadbed, and(2) a spatial cruved-surface equation of that slope of the roadbed. By this method,the deduct?ing procedures of the formula for calculating the length of the culvert are very easy, convenient and audio-visual,and thereby the expression formula of the length of the culvert under possible conditions has been obtained. The computer programs are made by using a method of rapid ap?proaching the real value,and the calculating results may be obtained on Computer 486 within only one second.

APPLICATION OF EXPLOSIVE FLASK CONTROLLED BLASTING METHOD

A controlled blasting method with a deeply drilled and enlarged explosive flask was adopted for blasting small-size foundation hole onto the design dimensions. As compared with the traditional explosive flask (with mul?ti-drilling holes) blasting method, this explosive flask controlled blasting method has the superiority in which the blasting area can be controlled by using a certain amount of explosive. Furthermore, as compared with the ordi?nary blasting method according to the design dimensions, the procedure of this controlled blasting method is much simple. In this paper, the application examples are proposed, and the key techniques of its procedure, the calcula?tion of the amount of the explosive, the method of drilling and enlarging the flask, etc, are described in detail.
