1 CONSTRUCITION OF RAILWAY PASSAGE FROM SOUTHWEST TO SOUTH CHINA TO ENHANCE CONNECTION OF WEST CHINA WITH EAST CHINA

The present situation and existing problems of railway transport passage from Southwest to South China are analyzed. The necessity,opportunity and meanings of constructing such railway passage are discussed also in this paper. Furthermore,from the viewpoints of the investment,the necessity of economic development,etc,the advantages and disadvantages of the three construction schemes,i. c. south,middle and north railway lines,which were proposed by the Third Railway Survey and Design Institute,are analyzed briefly and compared.

5 RAILWAY PASSAGE IN SOUTH CHINA AND ECONOMY IN HAINAN PROVINCE

A major transport passage is necessary for developing construction and the national defence of Hainan Island and seas in South China. The railway passage which cannot be replaced by ocean shipping,air transportation,highway traffic and pipeline transport,should be planned immediately and implemented timely.The paper expounds the superiorities of the resources in Hainan Island,and the history and present situation of railway construction in the island. Suggestions arc proposed as follows: the railway along the coast of Hainan Island and the submarine tunnel across the Qiongzhou Channel should be constructed as soon as possible.

9 MODE OF ROUTE SELECTION FOR HIGH SPEED RAILWAY PASSING THROUGH CITY

Because the route standard of the high speed railway is higher than the ordinary railway,the most difficult problem concerned with high speed railway passing through city is how to deal with the interrelation between the high speed railway and the existing buildings,especially concerned with a large number of buildings to be removed and to match with the city planning furthermore. The article states a few brief analyses about several means of route selection for high speed railway passing through large cities.

These successful experiences for safety track laying and bridge erection provides useful reference to the mountain railways.

43 FREE VIBRATION ANALYSIS OF LONG-SPAN SUSPENSION BRIDGE

free vibration analysis of long span bridge is the base of the earthquake and wind resistance design of bridge structures. It's also the base of the analysis of dynamic interaction response between bridges and trains. The frequencies of bridge structures arc the key parameters reflecting the free vibration features. In this paper,a long-span suspension bridge scheme is selected as calculating example,and the modal analysis is then performed to determine natural frequencies and mode shapes of lateral,vertical,torsional,longitudinal, and coupled vibrations of the bridge.

The landslide monitoring measures were adopted timely,the effective forecast analytical calculations were put forward,and the good results of landslide preventive treatment were obtained. They are valuable as reference for the similar engineering works.

The electric locomotives receive electric current from catenary through pantograph,it is a dynamic process. The mechanical vibration and the dynamics effects exist between the catenary and the pantograph. The multi-pantograph current collection is a kind of mechanical vibration with multi-movable vibration sources ,and these vibration sources together with the catenary compose a complex vibration system. Through analysis and computer simulation researches,several conclusions concerned with the characteristics of the multi-pantograph current collection has been obtained.

The Qing-Zang Railway should be constructed passing through 550 km multi-year tundra ,including the Kunlunshan Tunnel which is the longest tunnel with frozen soil in the whole railway line. Due to the wide range of the tundra,the construction works arc very difficult and the construction technologies are very complex. Different design principles may be adopted according to different degree of stability of the tundre. The paper expounds several design principles,research and work out several construction schemes concerned with the construction of subgrade,bridge and culvert,tunnel, etc.

According to the geological features of the exit portal of Pengshui tunnel with shallow depth,rich ground water and bedding strata,numerical analysis of the construction technique for the large span tunnel is carried out by means of elasto-plastic finite clement method in this paper. Meanwhile,the pipe-roof grouting and pile anchoring method have been adopted also to strengthen the bedding strata of the large span tunnel. It has been verified that the method and measures presented in this paper can not only safeguard the driving of the tunnel with adverse geological strata,but also enhance the construction progress as well ,and has gained desired effect.

The paper describes some easily neglecting construction technology problems and gives the solution methods for continuously prestressed concrete beam,which is concreted in-site with methods of full-space support and beam-column support. The loading analysis models have been established also. With an example of engineering practice,the detailed structural analysis was made. To concrete the box section one part after another with horizontal construction joints,the remaining stress would be produced in the concrete. The remaining construction stress can be decreased by reasonable methods and concreting in proper orders.

The defects to varying degrees occurred commonly on the structural beams and columes of the integral assembled reinforced concrete frame in the waiting hall at certain railway station. There were serious faulty cracks on the frame's beams,which endangered the proper operation. SMW technology has been adopted in many enclosed walls construction projects,but there is only little summary about it. This paper has summarized SMW piles engineering and its construction of the background near Qing'an Temple Station on No. 1 Line of Shanghai Metro. By using this summary,the engineering technicians can easily predict the trend of the deformation of the piles according to the monitored data.
