    The approaching method spo t by spot is the w ay g enerally used in measuring the side pile befo re the road bed const ructio n. The approx imate lo cation o f the side pile should be first measured in the cross sectio n map, then i t w ill be approached to the desig ned side pi le spo t by spo t th ro ug h calculatio n. But where the topog raphy i s chang ed during the const ructio n of road bed, the method could not be used directly in the seco nd road bed lof ting f rom the desig n v ariatio n. Thi s a rticle presents details of the va riable a pplicatio n for the fo rmula of approaching method spot by spo t during the changing const ruction co ndi tio n, taking the road bed w o rks f rom K10+ 728. 5 to K11+ 206. 75 of Badaling Ex pressw ay for ex ample. It al so appoints o ut a new rela tio n fo rmula to define the side pile lo cation, and rai ses a new method for the road side lo f ting in the complicated topog ra phic section.

    Combined wi th the pratices on the desig n of the Da-Qin and the Shuo-Hua ng rai lw ay lines, the selection of the main technical essentai ls, such as the number o f t rack-line, limi ting g radient, t ractio n mo de, type o f locomotiv es, effectiv e leng th of reception-depar ture t racks and so on fo r the heavy-haul railw ays are studied. Based o n the analy ses concerned w ith the desig n o f traf fic o rgani zatio n mo del, the present o peratio n si tuatio n and the existing problems fo r the Da-Qin rai lw ay, the pa per ex po unds the scheme o f o rg ani za tion of wag on f low s fo r the heav y-haul railw ay and the dev eloping prospect o f the heav y-haul unit t rain. The sug g estio ns are also proposed. They are v aluable as reference fo r giving play to the synthetic effect o f the heavy-haul rai lway , rai sing the t raf fic capaci ty of railw ay and increasing the so cial economic benefi t s.

    The high big cut ting slope wi th fissured clay ( such as hig her than 6 m) was usually desig ned as a combined slope wi th tw o-stag e side slopes. Meanw hile, as if this kind of cut ting slope is composed of the soi l who se inside quali ties hav e only small di fference, the exi sting o ptimal desig n problem fo r the installatio n of a terrace may be the posi tio n and the w idth of the terrace. There are tw o desig n methods co ncerned wi th this problem. They are ex plo red in this paper combined wi th the co nsideratio ns o f the stabi li ty o f the cutting slo pe and the economy of the ex cav atio n.

    This paper simply int roduces the ex tension project o f Chengdu East Rai lway Station, the ha rm of Cheng du clay o n const ructions ( such as subg rade) , a nd the reactio n betw een lime and soi l. On the basis of the experimental study of reference( 1) , sy stematic field measurement s a re made upon the subg rade o f the lime-soil in the ex tension pro ject o f Chengdu East Rai lway Statio n, a nd the resul ting reg ular pat terns betw een lime content a nd physical- mechanical properties are analy zed . The data indicate that the lime content o f ten percent is better than six teen percent for the subg rade of the lime-soi l of Chengdu clay.

    We set about studying the use of the 881 wa terproof paint material in o ur roadsection since 1993. Af ter w e did o ne ex periment after anoth er in some bridges and tunnels, w e found that i t had notable resul ts in w aterproof and i t was of spreading v alue.
