CONCEPTIONS OF A 2005 ?2050 PLAN FOR CONSTRUCTING RAILWAY NETWORK OF NORTHWEST CHINA

The paper expounds the general situation of railways in the northwest regions of China. Along with the reform and open to foreign countries and the rapid development of nation?al economy? the necessities of speeding up the reformation of existing railway lines and the con?struction of new railway networks in the Northwest China are explained,and the planning con?ceptions for constructing railway networks in these northwest regions are proposed.

DISCUSSIONS ON RELATIONS BETWEEN RAILWAY AND OTHER TRAFFIC WAYS IN CONSTRUCTION OF ROUTE NETWORKS

The paper expounds the relations between the five ways of traffic, i. e. the railway with highway, waterway^ airtransport and pipeline transport. In ordei to develop national com?munications and transportations,the necessities of speeding up the railway construction as essen?tial affair and developing actively the other ways of traffic are explained. The national and region?al railway trunk lines,main national highways,arterial waterways and main pipelines,which have significant influences on the national economy and play the important role in the networks of the coordinated transportations,should be constructed as the principal projects. The relations be?tween railways and highways are described emphatically. By taking the Gansu and Fujian Provinces as examples, it is recognized that the railways and the highways must be cooperated with each other for coordinating the developments. And thus, a communication and transporta?tion system, in which the railways and the highways are the frameworks and other traffic ways are cooperated, will be established. This system has rational distributions and advanced tech?niques and extends in all directions.

ENLIGHTENMENT FROM RESEARCH ON XI’AN - NANJING RAILWAY

Based on the realization of participating in the research works, the author proposes that the traffic volume should be determined according to the national economic and social devel?opment strategy and combined with the role of the railway networks, and the schemes of the route and its implement procedure should be determined according to the multi—respect contrasts and selections. These suggestions are rather valuable for reference. Owing to the important role of the Xi^an —Nanjing Railway on the railway networks, the author suggests that the Xi’an — Nanjing Railway should be accomplished as soon as possible.

RAILWAYS IN NANJING DISTRICT AND SELECTION OF POSITION CROSSING OVER YANGTZE RIVER

The railway requirements in the Nanjing District, the present statu and its relation with the railway program are analyzed in this paper. A new scheme of building Jing-Hu high?speed railway crossing over Yangtze River at Nanjing is proposed. Various problems which may be occurred under this scheme and the measures for solving these problems are analyzed and dis?cussed. Finally, several forms of crossing over the Yangtze River are contrasted and selected.

The paper points out the passive retarding situation of the railway geologic works and its creating reasons. Being aimed at passive situation of the geologic works, in order to change this passive retarding situation, several measures are suggested in this paper, such as inv- proving the surveying procedure, proceeding necessary reformation to the contents and depth of the geologic works in the preliminary surveying, and strengthening the geologic synthetical prospecting works* etc.

EFFECTS OF BALLAST THICKNESS ON RAIL TRACK STRUC TURE

A dynamic finite element model for system of wheel—rail—ballast is proposed in the paper. In this computational model, the rails are discretized into plane beam elements in which the ballast is considered as additional degree of freedom. This treatment makes it pos?sible for us to assemble the stiffness,damp and mass of the ballast on the element level, which greatly reduces the band width of the total stiffness matrix. As an application exam?ple t the dynamic responses of rail track structure with different ballast thickness are analyzed and some preliminary conclusions are obtained.

THE LONGEST SEAMLESS TRACK ON BRIDGE IN CHINA

The applications of seamless track on the railway bridges are usually concerned with the strength and stability of the track on the bridge,safety and comfort of the train op?eration and the structure of the bridge’s main body. At present time,the seamless track on the Jiujiang Changjiang Great Bridge is the longest in China. The specialities of this seamless track,the method of track laying and the material and properties of the rail fastenings are in?troduced in detail in this paper. In future,for the application and development of the seamless track on the railway bridges in China,these introductions are valuable for reference.

The main span of the Nanpanjiang Bridge adopts partial prestressed concrete con?tinuous beam with V 一 type supportings. This is a first example to railway bridge of our country. This paper discusses the building plan on V —type supportings of this bridge, as well as emphatically points out the methods which ensure stability of structures hanged at the top of the high piers and solves the problems on the support during working in high—al?titude and the scaffold for operation during construction.

Tunnel engineering is a necessary part in the railway and highway constructions. The tunnel construction network established by using GPS has the advantages of high speed, high precision and low expenses. The calculation about the influence of tunnel GPS network to the lateral error of piercing is very important. F3asing on the conducted formula of tunnel GPS lateral mean square error of piercing,the authors present one set of data processing method about GPS used in tunnel engineering,and give a calculating example in the practical engineering .

REFORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF CONSTRUCTION EN?TERPRISES IN RAILWAY ADMINISTRATIONS

The problems concerned with the reformation of the construction enterprises in the railway administrations are discussed in this paper. Under the influences of the un—independence and the daul nature of the multi-stage enterprises which were accomplished by the planning sys?tem of organizAtion, the contradictions and the difficulties faced by the construction enterprises are anslyzed. It is pointed out that the reformation of the construction enterprises in the railway administrations should be converted from the mode of multi — stage enterprise. The initiative management should proceed according to the regularities of the construction enterprises of them-selves. The interior of the enterprise should put forward the project management and proceed the regulations of organization structure and product structure firmly and resolutely. Thus, the con-versions of internal manage system will be promoted, enabled the construction enterprises to become a great support to the diversified economy of the railway administrations.
