EXPLORATION ON CONSTRUCTION OF XICHANG-ZHAOQING RAILWAY PASSAGE CONNECTING SOUTHWEST CHINA AND SOUTH CHINA
XU Ding-cheng
Based on the specialties of the economic development and the layout of the railway networks in China a consideration about constructing the Xichang-Zhaoqing railway passage has been proposed. The basic routing of the Xichang-Zhaoqing railway passage and its role paid on the railway networks in China are introduced. It is suggested that the construction of the Xichang-Zhaoqing railway passage may be devided into three stages: (1) Construction of Liuzhou-Zhaoqing trunk line. (2) Construction of Xichang-Liupanshui trunk line. (3) Construction of Anshun-Hechi trunk line. The construction of Xichang-Zhaoqing Railway will make the structure of railway networks more reasonable, becoming an important West-Fast railway passage connecting Cheng-Kun, Gui-Kun, Qian-Gui, Chuan-Qian, Jiao-Liu, Xiang-Gui, Jing-Guang, Guang-Mao, Nei-Kun, Luo-Zhan railway trunk lines, etc. The oversea passage from Southwest China to Zhujiang River Delta will be opened. It is advantageous to develop and utilize the rich natural resources and mineral resources in Southwest region. There are very important political, economic and social meanings for developing economics in West China, to implement the great developing West China, as well as to decrease the differences between the West China and the East China.

JIANG Hong
In order to implement national strategic plan of the great developing West China and the "two overall situation" policy, the construction of railway passages connecting closely the West China with the Middle & Fast China has become a particular problem which was explored by scholars and experts in the recent times. At first, the proposed suggestions and schemes concerned with above aspect arc introduced in detail in this paper. Then, by analysis and induction, a comprehensive tentative plan has been proposed as follows: based on the structure of railway networks of the "eight vertical and eight horizontal trunk lines”, "one horizontal, two vertical and five inclined trunk lines" should be increased to the national railway networks. Finally, it is suggested that the implementation of national 120 000 km railway plan should be divided into three stages, i. e. the year 2010, 2030 and 2050.

RESEARCH ON SIMPLY SUPPORTED BEAMS WITH EQUAL SPAN ON HIGH SPEED RAILWAYS
TIAN Jie, XU Ke-bin
The bridge's dynamic features and train's running comfort under resonant speed of simply supported beams with equal spans are analyzed. Through calculation, we know that the simply supported beams with equal spans and the trains will have one to two resonant speeds during high speed, the bridge's dynamic factors between different spans have little change, and the train's running comfort differs a little during no.1 to no.4 while, from no.5 span, it becomes stable. This means that the railway simply supported beams with equal spans arc suitable used for extra-long bridges.

EXPLORATION ON JACKING TECHNIQUE OF RAILWAY SKELETON FRAME BRIDGE UNDER INTENSIVE TRAFFIC INTERFERENCE AND ADVERSE GEOLOGIC CONDITIONS
LI Jian-jun
Skeleton frame bridge jacking method is a frequently adopted practice in the construction of existing railway lines. It has been extensively applied in railway engineering construction. This thesis probes into the treatment of engineering process on the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, for which the longitudinal uplift girder is under the complicated pressure condition and with great span. The construction on the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway is under such unfavorable conditions: great interference from the intensive traffic and high speed of trains, adverse geologic conditions in terms of the high subterranean water pressure in constructions on existing river channels and the drift sand interference in pile constructions, etc. and the difficulties with intersected trackages. The thesis is supposed to provide some experiences on the engineering construction under adverse geologic conditions and complicated pressure status, and serve as a reference for safety management for the construction on existing railway lines.

SCHEME DESIGN AND APPLICATION OF FULL SPACE SUPPORTS FOR CONSTRUCTION IN SITU OF PRESTRESSED CONCRETE CONTINUOUS BOX BEAMS
HE Ying-long, KONG Xiang-ping
The bearing system of full space supports is a multi-fulcrum bearing system. The loads arc scattered through multi-points and transmitted to the foundation. Therefore, it is required that the foundation should have sufficient bearing capacity, so as to render the settlement amount of the supports controlled within allowable scopes during the construction procedure of casting concrete in situ. At the same time, even settlement is required for all fulcrum points to prevent cracks produced on beam's body due to uneven settlements. The technical analyses and summaries concerned with the design, construction and applications of the full space supports arc put forward in this paper.
