Now aday s, facing o n the oppo rtuni ty of wide o pen and big dev elopment of the West China , a high tile of railway construction wi ll be rai sed in the 21st century. Hereaf ter to year 2050, i t is fo recasted tha t the new ly-built rai lway s for the railw ay netw ork in West China wil l be nearly 30 000 km, w hich is the 54. 5% of to tal amount of new ly-buil t railw ays in 21st century in the who le China, and is larg er than the sum o f new lybuil t railway s in Middle China and East China. The autho r summa ri zes the relativ e theses i ssued in dif ferent railw ay periodicals in recent few y ears, analy zes and co ncludes the const ruction st ructure o f the railw ay netw o rk in the West China in 21st cent ruy , and proposes several opinions a nd sugg estions.

APPLICATION PRACTICES ON INTEGRATION OF RAILWAY SURVEY AND DESIGN

The integ rativ e sy stem of railw ay surv ey and desig n i s a comprehensiv e application research pro ject. In i ts particular implementatio n procedure, the develo pment o f sciences and techno logies should be taken as the g uide. By taking the productio n applications as the target and the resea rch achiev ements being tested continuo usly in productio n, the perfect results may be o btained g radually. The paper put s fo rwa rd the summaries successiv ely on the ex perimental w o rks fo r the integ ratio n o f railw ay surv ey and desig n in the following th ree engineering pro jects: ( 1) preliminary surv eying desig n o f Xi 'an-Na njing Railw ay, ( 2) partial final surv eying technical desig n fo r Shenmu-Ya n 'a n Section of Bao tou-Xi 'an Rai lwa y, and( 3) find surv eying technical design o f Xi 'a n-Nanjing Railw ay. These practices prov e that the integ ration of rai lway surv ey a nd desig n is fea sible, i t is a revo lution in the hi sto ry of surv ey and desig n, and wi ll be finally the important production mode o f railw ay surv ey a nd desig n. They a re v aluable as reference fo r dev eloping applications o n integ ratio n of railw ay survey and desig n hereaf ter.

PREDICTION OF FATIGUE SERVICE LIFE FOR RAILS OF HIGH-SPEED RAILWAY

Thi s pa per analy zes many methods of predictio n o f fatig ue service li fe fo r rai ls o f High-Speed Rai lway , and prov es that the Miner Combined Rule is the proper method fo r predictio n o f service li fe for the fatig ue of rai ls o f High-Speed Rai lw ay. At the same time, i t introduces the model of predictio n o f service life fo r rails of High-Speed Railw ay , as w ell as the v ehicle model and the i rreg ula ri ty model fo r dy namic simulatio n, a nd giv es the reg ressio n results o f bending stress o f rai ls caused by the main kind of v ehicles. At last , w e calculate o ut the fatig ue serv ice life for rai ls where exist s ir reg ularity o f dipped w elded joint a nd the w heel f lat and thei r combina tion. The result i s in acco rdance w ith the fact. Thi s prov es tha t the Miner Combined Rule is the proper method for prediction of serv ice li fe fo r the fatig ue of rai ls of Hig h-Spped Railway. We g iv e al so some advices fo r the pro tection o f rai l.

RESEARCH ON ARC SPRAYED Al COATING FOR ANTI-CORROSION AND ANTI-SLIDING BOLTING SURFACE COATING OF RAILWAY STEEL BRIDGE

Arc sprayed Al coating was applied as anti-corrosion and anti-silding coating for bolting surface of railway steel bridge- Attenuation test of anti-sliding coefficient,the porosity and the potentiostatic anodic polarization curves,and the salt mist of arc sprayed coatings have been tested. The results show that: the original anti-sliding coefficient of arc sprayed Al coating is Q 673 and the arc sprayed Al coating has excellent property of anti-attenuation,the spontaneous electrocal potential of Al is - 0. 915V in 3. 0% NaCl solution,the potentiostatic anodic polarization curves of Al go on gently and little inactivation appears on the curve of Al coating,the arc sprayed Al coating has low porosity and excellent property of anti-corrosion and it is a ideal coating for anti-corrosion and anti-slidi ng of railway steel bridge bolting surface.

FEASIBLE PROBINGON NEW METHOD OF DISPLACEMENT MONITOR OF TUNNEL

In this paper, according to the trait of displacement monitor of N ATM and combined with the develop of modern instrument of measure,two new methods of diplacement monitor of tunnel are put forward “ the system of three—iimensional displacement monitor” and “ the arbitrary point system of peripheral convergence of tunnel”. The former, at one point, can provide the dependable informations of three— dimensional deformation for several sections of inspect in a short time. The latter, can provide the accurate informations of peripheral convergence of tunnel for several sections of inspect,and its working efficency can be improved distinctly than the conventional method.

The TY JL-I type station computer interlocking system is a newly improved system which consists of two parts i. e. the micro-computer system and the relay circuit. This system has the interlocking function for the realization to guarantee the safety of train operation and the car shunting. Furthermore,the system has also the function of single~coupler humping and continuous humping- The characteristic of the system is reliable, it is a computer interlocking system with safety against failure, perfect functions and convenient operation. CONTROL BLASTING TECHNIQUE FOR AN URBAN LARGE- SPAN SHALLOW UNDERGROUND CAVERN

The Yushan Skating Rink Project was situated at the bottom of Yushan Hill in a city s central busy region- It was a large-span shallow underground cavern- The surrounding environment of this project was complex with specialities of high technical requirements and big constructing difficulties. Therefore,during the construction procedure by drilling and blasting method,the control blasting technique must be employed, not only for decreasing the influence of blasting vibration on the surrounding buildings, but also for controlling the distance of flying rocks and for lowering the blasting noise. The applications of the control blasting technique in the Yushan Skating Rink Project are expounded in detail in this paper.
